Membership Benefits
UPCRA offers many benefits
to its members.
Members will:
- Receive a current membership listing of all UPCRA members.
- Receive a newsletter
announcing association activities and highlighting information on program
guidelines, reimbursement, and other issues of concern
to professionals within the field.
- Receive discount on
fees for UPCRA programs.
- Share in a job exchange
with other members and potential employees.
- Receive a copy of the
organization bylaws.
Top Ten Reasons to Join UPCRA
- The feeling of knowing
there is someone else out there (coming from a small hospital, it is easy
to feel isolated).
- The opportunity
to meet and visit in person with Kevin Ryan, Pat Comoss, Dr. Nanette Wenger,
Linda K. Hall, Wayne Sotile and many other national leaders
over the years who have been instrumental in the advancement of cardiac
and pulmonary care and rehabilitation.
- Being able to stay
in touch with the political scene. There are many out there keeping abreast
of government action, keeping a watchful eye,
and keeping
us informed.
- Being a member
of a relatively small group, there’s
a great opportunity to make a difference by becoming involved in committees.
One voice is
definitely heard, and the effort extended is recognized and appreciated.
- I believe I have
an obligation to myself and to the organization to support our
profession so our combined voices can be heard, and
our jobs
can be secure.
- Having the support,
encouragement and respect of peers while accomplishing a goal
that’s important to me.
- Attending the national
convention, and learning about people and programs from all over
the country.
- Supporting others
who are working hard to keep the organization growing and progressing,
even when I am not active.
- The newsletters
keep me informed on issues, provide information that is pertinent
and tidbits that are
fun.
- The incredible educational
opportunities that are provided at our regional and local meetings.
(Yes, I could take advantage of
these without
being a
member, but the price is the same for meetings and membership
as it is for nonmembers,
so why not have all the advantages of membership?)
UPCRA maintains the
following association goals:
- To promote public understanding
of the nature of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs.
- To encourage
the exchange of ideas and information between programs and
professionals within the region.
- To provide a unified
voice concerning issues important to cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
- To
provide educational opportunities for health care professionals and other
interested persons.
